Ochi family

One of the sweetest parts of building a global community is reconnecting with people you haven’t talked to in years. A friend from college had moved to Houston and wanted a newborn/family photoshoot! I said absolutely, of course.

We hadn’t been to Houston before, so we made a road trip out of it, and it was so much fun. Roadtrip included some staples, including Chick Fil-e, Gatorade, and a stay at a cheap motel.

In the morning, we went over to their house and hung out for about an hour, posing, laughing, and having the best time. This family is so full of life and joy. The mid-century, minimalist aesthetic of their home added so much personality and sweetness to the images and atmosphere.

After some typical shots using the beautiful morning light streaming through the blinds of the bedroom, we moved to the living room and took some using the couch and some play toys as props.

To end the shoot, Luke watched the kiddos while I took the couple outside for a few couple shots. I think that is such a beautiful way to end a family shoot because it is so important to have some sweet couple shots.
