Andrew & Megan
Andrew is one of my best friends from high school, and I met Megan at Westmont College, where I went to university. Once upon a time, Andrew came to visit me at Westmont. We hung out downtown, got coffee, I snuck him sandwiches from the dining commons, and it was a grand time.
One time, we both went to the dining commons for lunch. Megan was sitting with a few people, and I greeted them and introduced Andrew to them. Andrew sat down and I went to pack us some food for the day. We wanted to go to the beach. Once I was done making sandwiches and grabbing some fruit, we both left. As we left, Andrew said, “That was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.”
I said, “Megan? Yeah, she’s awesome. If you guys lived closer you would be such a cute couple…” I sort of left it there but had a glimmer of excitement within me.
At the beach, Andrew brought her up again. “Hey, um, do you think I could connect with Megan somehow? Like casually… maybe Facebook friend her or something?” We decided collectively that to play it as cool as possible, he should friend a few other Westmont people as well, so that she didn’t feel off about anything. The plan was hatched and I forgot about the whole thing. We had a great rest of the visit, and he left.
Months later, I discovered that Andrew had friended Megan on Facebook and that they were talking! For months, they just chatted, then video chatted, then visited each other.
Eventually, they got engaged and got married in beautiful, sunny Hawaii. What a dream.
Both Luke and I absolutely love Andrew & Megan, and thankfully they like us too. They also love travel, so once upon a time, they came to visit us in Istanbul!
We hosted them for about a week, and it was incredible. Once day, at golden hour, we walked down to the seaside of Uskudar (where we lived), walked along the sahil, and took some shots of the happy couple.
